How are subjectivities being constructed in today’s world? Adorno investigates the presence of the other as fundamental to self-construction—through echo, mirroring, and bodily dialogue. Rejecting reductionist aesthetics, the work embraces a maximalist approach to interpretation, form, and affect—rooted in the richness of Brazilian dance and culture.
“Where is the other?”
Every time you go online, your profile is refined and returned to you as your identity. Contemporary subjectivities are being shaped by these projections, as subjectivity is formed in relation to the other. The “other” here is Al, which delivers summaries and stereotyped knowledge, like a hall of mirrors reflecting endlessly, yet with each reflection, the image is gradually reduced. Each of us carries a fascinating, contradictory universe, far more complex than any identity label.
Adorno embraces a maximalist approach to interpretation, form, and affect—rooted in the richness of Brazilian culture. We exacerbate the existence of the other through the act of devouring one another — physically, symbolically, emotionally.
