SIRÍ is een samenwerking tussen choreograaf Marco da Silva Ferreira en filmregisseur Jorge Jácome die begon in 2016 en een tweede fase kreeg in 2020. Met dit werk stelt Marco da Silva Ferreira zijn choreografisch werk met het levende lichaam in vraag (denken over dans als een analoge uitdrukkingswijze) en Jorge Jácome bevraagt de manier waarop hij de beelden van de uitvinding van realiteit vastlegt (gebruikmakend van film als een technologisch expressiemiddel).
Het recreëren van menselijke karaktereigenschappen in technologie keer steeds terug: antropomorfisme, beweging, lichamelijke capaciteiten en functies; we gaan in de richting van een meer abstracte relatie met objecten dat (artificiële) intelligentie, emoties, affecten, etc. weerspiegelen. Zij zijn geïnteresseerd in onze eigen spiegel die creëren in een veranderende wereld.
Met het gebruik van levende lichamen, knuffeldieren, projecties en mechanische apparaten, bekijken Marco da Silva Ferreira en Jorge Jácome beweging niet enkel met het perspectief van een mens dat beweegt, maar ook als een energie dat voorkomt uit de observatie van realiteit en de reproductie ervan. Wanneer we robots zien “dansen”, schrijven we hen snel een quasi-menselijke eigenschappen toe: hun beweging is vergelijkbaar met een lichaam dat cirkelt, kantelt en draait. Maar wanneer het naast een mens wordt geplaatst, worden ze concurrenten die grenzen vergelijken en conflicten blootleggen.
